The Cleome does not emit a noticeable fragrance, but hummingbirds and butterflies didn’t get the memo, because they are drawn to these flowers all summer long. This is a great drought tolerant and very easy maintenance plant.

Cleome’s requires lots of sunshine and fertile and moist soil but you don’t have to pamper them. The best time to plant outdoors is early summer—around the same time you’d put in tomato plants.
